The French Days on Optimization and Decision Science (SMAI)

Due to health crisis, the French Days on Optimization and Decision Science postponed to September 7-9, 2020, and the mini-course postponed to September 10-11, 2020, will hold fully online.

The DODU prize awarded to the best talk(s) of (a) young researcher(s) is maintained.

Registration for these events is free but mandatory.

EDF-Lab Paris-Saclay is hosting the 2020 edition of the French Days on Optimization and Decision Science, the biennial meeting of the MODE special interest group of the French Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics ( SMAI) from 25 to 27 March 2020  7th to 9th of September 2020.
This event aims at bringing together PhD students, researchers and practitioners, who shall present their recent advances in the broad areas of optimization, game theory, control, and decision science in general.

As in the previous editions of the SMAI-MODE meeting, the DODU prize will be awarded to the best talk(s) of (a) young researcher(s). This prize is co-sponsored by EDF R&D, Orange and Thales, inside PGMO. This year, a prize will be also awared to the best poster(s).

Topics of the conference:

  • Deterministic and Stochastic Optimization
  • Numerical Methods for Optimization
  • Discrete and Continuous Optimization
  • Shape Optimization
  • Convex and Nonsmooth Analysis
  • Game Theory
  • Variational Calculus and Optimal Control
  • Mathematical Methods for Image and Signal
  • Mathematical Modelization in Economics, Finance and Social Sciences
  • Industrial Applications

Mini-course

After the conference, on September 10-11 2020, a mini-course, organized together with the GDR MOA, is proposed on the topic “Optimization problems with several players and equilibrium notions”. For further information …
